Classic Home Cinema
Background
The client originally contacted Dawsons in 1997 to develop a home cinema space in an outbuilding on a remote Estate deep in the wilds of the New Forest. Leading edge components were used throughout the cinema, paired beautifully with luxury sofa’s.
There had been a number of discussions regarding the relocation of the clients existing cinema closer to the main house and the opportunity presented itself when an existing garage was demolished and replaced by a two storey extension where we were able to influence the design with a 7.4.4 Dolby Atmos theatre with Estate offices above.

The Client’s interior designers requested a Classically designed movie theatre with rich colours and soft fabrics throughout together with automated blackout and roman blinds to the numerous windows which were supplied by Crestron.
Acoustically damped fabric covers the walls and ceiling hiding the Dolby Atmos configured 15 speaker JBL Synthesis loudspeaker system and with a two tiered floor with steps either end, 11 fully automated reclining seats from Home Cinema Modules afford spacious luxury comfort.

A single button push on the Crestron TSR310 remote drops the blinds, dims the lights, draws back the red curtains to reveal a 2.8m acoustically transparent Ultimate Screen which covers the Left, Centre, Right, screen speakers with twin subwoofers.
The Dawsons team designed a bespoke motorised cabinet, housing the Sony VPL-GTZ1 ultrashort throw 4K laser projector, which draws back from it’s standby location to illuminate the cinema screen with a dynamic, detailed rich colour 4K image and the room becomes alive with sound.
The Crestron remote further provides intuitive access to the numerous lighting modes, system sources, volume and theatre controls. A traditional décor paired beautifully with high quality sound and unrivalled picture from the latest in audio visual technology.
A 25 year journey for both Dawsons and the Client resulting in a luxury sound and vision experience few would have envisaged back in 1997.
